The annual Barrie Prayer Breakfast is a community event that takes place on the first Wednesday of October at the Southshore Community Centre, 205 Lakeshore Dr. It begins at approximately 7:25 a.m. and includes a guest speaker. While historically focused on community leaders, it is open to all community members.

Sponsored by the Barrie Mayor and organized by the area Christian Community
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.”
(Matthew 18:18-19)
The purpose of this meeting is to bring together those who are playing an active leadership role in Barrie to ask God’s guidance in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. We are convinced that much can be accomplished by leaders whose principals are influenced by a belief in God. Since 1964 a National Prayer Breakfast has been held in Ottawa. Other Prayer Breakfasts sponsored by Government, business and community leaders have been held in more than 50 countries. If you believe that a Christian perspective should be presented to law makers and other leaders, then this is your singular opportunity to put faith into action.
